Daniel 1 Academy is a home education center serving families who choose to educate their children at home. In Tennessee home educators are required to register their children each school year with either their local superintendent’s office or with a church-related school located in the state of Tennessee. Daniel 1 Academy exists to serve home educators as a school with which to register as well as to offer services that will enhance your home schooling experience. Parents from other states may register with Daniel 1 if the home school laws of those states allow them to do so.
Because we recognize that different families have different needs, Daniel 1 offers home educators several different programs from which to choose. In addition to traditional “do-it-yourself” home schooling, Daniel 1 offers even more for families looking for a private school education. We have two programs that combine the advantages of learning at home with the benefits of having the staff of a private school oversee your child’s education.

Daniel 1 Academy is a church-related school as defined by the Tennessee State Code and is a member of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). As a Category IV school, Daniel 1 is exempt from accreditation.
Daniel 1 Academy opened in June 1998 and has continued to grow and expand over the last 10 years. Daniel 1 is a non-profit organization with a board of directors overseeing its policies and procedures. The administrators of Daniel 1 are Jack and Cindy Holman. They homeschooled both of their children from kindergarten through high school. Both are now attending college. Cindy administrated Daniel 1 Academy under a different school name for 6 years prior to changing the name to Daniel 1 Academy.
